They call me from small towns

Me chiamano pe’ paesi

To brag! I am highly sought after. In all the small towns of the district I am in great demand for my renowned skills.
Notwithstanding the fact that it could also be an inconvenient boast if the towns were few and very small.
My fame would turn out to be a miserable thing. So watch out it could be a classic boomerang bragging…

Big Hello

Ciaone

A big hello. It is not a goodbye. Means a movement away. Inability. It judges peremptorily a situation or behavior far from the possibility of being realized. Ciaone is also a bit prophetic. It tells us that something will never happen, or at least it will be very complicated. Nun, your. Closed.

Suora, tua. Chiuso.

This sentence brings us back to childhood when, as a kid, on the streets of Rome, we met a nun, it was common to pronounce this expression, then touch a friend, and cross our fingers. Basically it was a small magical rite that protected us from the proverbial misfortune brought by the sight of a nun, and passed this “zella” (badluck) (as it is said in Rome) to the unfortunate who was touched, which had to be fast enough to touch someone else before he crossed his fingers, making himself immune.
Here is the imagination of the child who grew up in the same city where the pope lives …

Here is a detailed explanation (in italian) >>

Are you looking for Maria in Rome?

Stai a cercà Maria pe Roma?

One might think to the logical and literal meaning: waste time, pursuing useless and difficult task to accomplish (imagine how many girls named Maria live in Rome), however, it is more commonly used to ask provocatively if “you” are looking for trouble, probably because whoever pursues an unlikely goal is a “time-waster”, and sometimes this kind of people having nothing to do, just look for or create problems.
